MY PART

This term we're taking part in a contest about the climate change. We're doing many different activities for it, like a power point, a research, a campaign, a wall painting... I'm going to be doing a document which sums up all the work we've done and which explains which part has each one of us done. For that document I'll need:

- a slogan

- a explanation of all the activities (I'll be asking my classmates to do a summary of their work, including the difficulties they faced, the sources they used, where the information is from...)

- each member's commitment

CLIMATE CHANGE

Earth's climate is always changing. In the past, Earth's climate has gone through warmer and cooler periods, each lasting thousands of years.
Observations show that Earth's climate has been warming. Its average temperature has risen a little more than one degree Fahrenheit during the past 100 years or so. This amount may not seem like much. But small changes in Earth's average temperature can lead to big impacts.

Some causes of climate change are natural. Most scientists think that recent warming can't be explained by nature alone. Most scientists say it's very likely that most of the warming since the mid-1900s is due to the burning of coal, oil and gas.

THIRD TERM

During the second term we've learnt very interesting things about genetics, healthy lifestyle and medical issues. With all this I believe that i have imporoved my English and my knowledge on the aforementioned matters. I expect the third term to be as interesting as the second one, even if I am not very keen on the topic we are working with.

STOP WAR

War is a state of armed conflict between societies. It is generally characterized by extreme collective aggression, destruction, and usually high mortality. Wars have always existed and still do, and it is very diffuclt, and some might say that it is even impossible to stop them. Wars kill thousands of people everyday, including children. We have to do something to stop this situation, even if we have to change the hole society, it would be worth it.

The main problem is that there are some people who aren't interested in it finishing. Powerful people and weapon industries take advantage of war and they make money with it. While they are becoming richer and richer, people from countries at war keep dying and suffering their selfish ambition.

ALTERNATIVE MEDICINE

Alternative medicine is any practice that states to have the healing effects of medicine but that is not part of the science-based healthcare system, and is not clearly backed by scientific evidence. It consists of a wide range of health care practices, products and therapies. Its practices are diverse in their foundations and methodologies. Different cultures may have their own unique traditional or belief based practices developed recently or over thousands of years ago.

CONTROVERSY

Despite it being tested numerous times, it has hardly ever shown any effectiveness greater than the placebo effect. It has been criticized a lot by doctors and science experts for being nonsense, fraudulent or unethical. Many doctors claim alternative medicine practices are junk science and may even be dangerous and state that there is no alternative medicine. They say that there is only one scientifically proven, evidence-based medicine supported by solid data.
